In October 1910 Schönberg was given the opportunity to present his paintings from recent months to the public for the first time. Since establishing a book and art shop in 1905, Hugo Heller made a significant impact on Vienna’s cultural scene after 1900 through the introduction of novel business ideas, and the organization of author’s readings and concert events. The Art Gallery was adjacent to the salesroom of the bookshop. Concerts of contemporary music, literary soirees, scientific lectures, and exhibitions were held at the address Am Bauernmarkt No. 3 in Vienna’s first district. The bookshop and publishing house, which specialized in contemporary literature, had a separate department attached for the sale of graphic arts. In 1914, a concert agency was added.
